Kim Young-sik, President of the KICPA, will serve a second term..."Accounting is national infrastructure""Strengthening the win-win platform for large, small and medium-sized firms"Kim Young-sik, President of the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants(KICPA), successfully won a second term. Following the 45th term, President Kim will serve as the 46th president in a row until June 2024. At a press conference held shortly after the success of his second term, President Kim expressed his feelings, "I will further enhance the status of certified public accountants as an expert trusted by society," adding, "I will also create a future that can contribute to social development and achieve personal achievements." "The new government has a strong stance of easing corporate regulations. However, accounting audits are a national infrastructure, not regulations," he said. "The national agenda includes improving the quality of audits by strengthening the capabilities of external auditors." He added, "We will strive to create an atmosphere that enhances audit capabilities and makes transparency clearer." President Kim cited the creation of an accounting win-win ecosystem as a key point of his second term. He said, "I heard various voices from the accounting industry by region and generation while campaigning. Each had different interests," he said. "We will act as a coordinator for large firms with ability and experience to share their know-how with small and medium-sized firms. We will operate a win-win platform more actively in the KICPA," he explained.

- (Jeju Group)The webinar "ISSB Exposure Draft IFRS S1 General Requirements for Disclosure of Sustainability-related Financial Information and IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures" The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), the Japanese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (JICPA), and the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants (KICPA) hosted a webinar on the topic of "ISSB Exposure Draft IFRS S1 General Requirements for Disclosure of Sustainability-related Financial Information and IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures". The Exposure Draft was published by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) in March 2022, and the deadline for submitting comments on the Exposure Draft is July 29, 2022.The webinar was held on June 23, 2022 (17:00pm-18:30pm Seoul/Tokyo, 16:00pm-17:30pm Singapore, 9:00am-10:30am London) via ZOOM.Speakers were the Vice-Chair of the ISSB, Sue Lloyd, and the ISSB technical staff, Caroline Clark-Maxwell.
